IFRS / Private Enterprise GAAP (ASPE) IFRS and Private Enterprise GAAP (ASPE) are now in the Competency Map and students will be responsible for IFRSs for both the SOA final exam and for the UFE. This course will summarize all of the technical areas in IFRS and Private Enterprise GAAP (ASPE) for which students are responsible. For some students, this course will be a 1 day course and for others, a 2 day course, as follows: May 15, 2011 - 1 day IFRS session in which we will review the IFRSs and ASPE sections that students were responsible for on the CKE in January 2011 or May 2011. May 22, 2011 - 1 day IFRS session in which we will review all new IFRS sections, not covered on the Jan. or May 2011 CKE. Simulated cases will be used to illustrate how these areas can be tested in the SOA and the UFE. At the conclusion of the course, students will have a good grasp of both the technical material and how it differs from old GAAP and how to incorporate this material into cases. All students coming to the Toronto course should attend BOTH days, with the exception of those students who have taken the PASS Fall 2010 CKE course or Winter 2011 CKE Course. These students should only attend on May 22, 2011. In Ottawa, ALL students should attend the 1 day session on May 1, 2011.
