I just want to thank you and Michael for the work you put in to teach such a great course. This is how I feel about your courses – I don’t believe I would have passed the CKE, SOA and possibly UFE without them. I couldn’t see the benefits of paying for a prep course, so I decided I would just attempt the exam without any preparatory classes. That was a mistake, I failed and my deciles were quite poor. I decided it may be worth it to take one if the 3 prep courses I was introduced to. I did my research and found yours to be the best for me, because of word of mouth and due to the high costs for the CA programs, the financial flexibility offered by you and Michael. Well, I passed the CKE and my marks improved from “quite poor” to pretty good! I went on to take the SOA and IFRS courses also offered by PASS and little did I know, the CKE course I took several months prior would assist me for SOA. I believe all 3 of these prep courses assisted in my passing of the SOA. Next was the UFE and there was no way I was not registering and taking the PASS UFE prep course. That course was a bit different from the rest, it was a lot of work and learning but very educational, and again the CKE course assisted with my UFE study and writing – Although I was learning and touching up my case-writing skills, I did not have to worry too much about the technical as I had a good base from the CKE course. I thank you and Michael for offering courses that helped me throughout this process. V. Wilson |
I'd like to say thank you for putting on such an amazing UFE program. I was a repeat writer, and took part in you Comprehensive and Comp writing courses this summer to help me prepare for the UFE, and I passed this year. The teaching approaches were excellent - I really enjoyed each class! Most of all, the case and writing techniques I learned and used throughout my preparation process were invaluable and the comps were excellent learning cases. Thank you again! C. Tang |
I took your CKE course and achieved a first decile standing. I was ecstatic. At the recommendation of someone else at my firm I did not take the SOA prep course from you but someone else and was terribly unprepared for the SOA in 2006 and ultimately did not attain a PASS at the SOA. I then took your Winter Case Writing course in the winter/ spring and the SOA prep course at U of T and re-wrote the SOA with much more focus on the writing skills you helped me develop and of course achieved a PASS! I then followed up with your comprehensive UFE prep course in July / August and stuck to your recommendations on approach, practice writing and even study schedule. I approached the UFE as prepared and confident as I could ever be thanks to your courses. November 30th arrived and a PASS was achieved on my first attempt. My only regret was not sticking with your courses in my first attempt at the SOA. J. Erauw |
I would like to thank you and Michael for creating something like PASS, and all of the courses it has to offer. All of the notes and lectures - from CKE to UFE - were simply amazing and surprisingly useful. The techniques that I learned from you two, and the other lecturers, were very helpful in all of the exams. Sometimes I even find myself applying the PASS PM analysis technique at work! The lecturers for the CKE and the UFE courses really helped to refresh my understanding of the basic concepts, and helped me learn (quickly!) the more complex and annoying ones. To the markers, I'd like to thank them for helping me understand what is good case-writing, and all of the helpful comments I received on the practice questions. Overall, I was very impressed with the program. If I had to do it again, I would definitely choose PASS. Thank you again for playing such a significant role in my CA qualification process. Yours Respectfully, B. La |
I wanted to thank you for the time you spent with me last December. I don't know if you recall (as you have so many students) but you took the time to look at my previous UFE results (3x) and provide me with feedback I needed. I took your advice, and worked with the counsellor you recommended from January until the exam. Plus I took your fall prep course and another one in the summer. It all paid off! I passed this year on my fourth attempt...and well, I am extremely grateful to you. D. Joynt |
I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to you and Michael for providing such a comprehensive program. It prepared me for the exam and resulted in a subsequent pass! I will recommend the course to the writers in my firm. In comparison to other practice exams, I found the PASS UFE and SOA practice exams better prepared me for the actual UFE/SOA as they were more challenging, covered a wider range of competencies, and required a strong sense of seeing the “big picture”. Your practice exams also included less common financial accounting topics (e.g. there was a case involving buying gold on speculation / derivatives), which helps a student learn such topics but also seeing the type of depth and discussion required (which wasn’t much), and that made these topics less intimidating. This is very important because when the actual UFE throws you a curveball, you will be confident, prepared, and know what is (reasonably) required to achieve RC/C. So thank you again, and I hope your PASS classes *reach capacity again!* J. Hahn |
